The One Who Stayed Classy

"You stay classy San Diego."

This past weekend I worked for the San Diego Film Festival,
mainly stalking celebrities and tweeting about it
but since my friend was the festival producer,
she recruited me to do wide variety of jobs during the five days.

Due to my very embarrassing and awkward nature,
I of course put my skills to great use in front of some
high profile people.

One of them being Judd Apatow
who we were honoring with a filmmaker award one of the nights...

Last minute, I was asked by my friend to be stage manager
(stage left...kind of a big deal considering there's only one stage left...)

That is where I got to interact with some pretty neat people
before they went on to honor Judd.

One of those people being David Koechner
whom you may recognize from Anchorman as Champ Kind.

Let's just start off by saying, GREAT guy!
I thought he was just funny because the writers in his movies were funny,
But no!
He can do it by himself too!

He went on to make a pretty long speech,
which of course, was not planned and
after he spoke, he came back stage-

"Was my speech really that long?"

"Do you want the honest answer?"

"I mean, I had about 3 or 5 minutes...and it was about that long."

"Try 10..."

"Really?!"

"But it was great! You can the crowd going and they loved it!"

Tip for next time: Just lie.

Another cute actor I had the chance to meet
was Beau Mirchoff from the TV show Awkward.

He was in the audience for the Judd tribute
and I knew I just had to get a picture with him!
Umm, hello.
I think you can see why...

"Hey, sorry for being that beezy and asking to take a photo but do you mind?"

"No not at all!"

We start to pose for the photo.

"So what's a beezy?"

That is correct.
I had to explain to him what a beezy was.
Awkward.

My last neat celebrity encounter was
Troian from the TV show Pretty Little Liars.

If you haven't seen it,
first- you should,
second- you should start from the beginning
because it is confusing as shit!

Anyways, she was pretty chill
and of course I had to ask her a question from my best friend
which made me sound like a creeper-

"So I follow you on instagram and see you doing that aerial ribbon stuff all the time.
What is that?"

"Of you mean the acrobat classes? I mean, it would be cool for a movie one day but
it's just for fun."

And that's all I got out of her...
No wonder she looks freaked out in the picture.

You're welcome Olivia.

So those were my ridiculous interactions
and hopefully they forget they even met me...
all they know is that I am that social media girl from the festival.
But hey, they know me!

Until next year,
You stay classy San Diego...
